Mary Maxine Middleton, 87, Oblong, IL passed away on Saturday January 14, 2017 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.
Mary was born on May 30, 1929 in Licking Township Crawford County, IL. She was the daughter of Chester Bryant Hosier and Violet Adora (Hickox) Hosier. On January 21, 1950 she married John William Middleton who preceded her in death on September 27, 1981.
Mary worked for 21 years at Harmon’s Drug Store, Oblong, IL; she attended Elbow Grade School and was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1947; active as a Den Mother; Oblong Little League Association; member of the Yale Church of Christ; Past President and Chaplin of Oblong American Legion Post #219 Auxiliary; Oblong Roadrunners and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Mary especially liked the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ronald W. and Connie Middleton, Shelbyville, IL; daughter and son-in-law Carol Sue “Susie” and Kelley W. Tracy, Oblong, IL; six grandchildren Tara and Randy Holbrook, Roxana, IL, April and Clay Rush, Mead, CO, Kim and Cory Williams, Merom, IN, Mandy Middleton, Afton, MO, Meredith and Greg Blevins, Winchester, IL and Krista Tracy, Brazil, IN; two step-grandchildren Travis and Amy Hatfield, Shelbyville, IL and Troy and Michelle Hatfield, Shelbyville, IL: seven great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; one step great- great- granddaughter; two sisters-in-law Lois Hosier, Oblong, IL and Judy Hosier, Terre Haute, IN; many special friends at Ridgeview Care Center and the Oblong Roadrunners.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; husband; four brothers and sister-in-law Chester B. Hosier Jr, Oliver A and Marge Hosier, Max A. Hosier and Donald Hosier; four sisters and brothers-in-law Pauline and Forest Huddleston, Margaret and John O. Bishop, Lucille and Robert Shinabarger and Esther Fay Hosier.
